E-Governance

E-Governance is the public sector’s use of information and communication technologies with the aim of improving information and service delivery, encouraging citizen participation in the decision-making process and making government more accountable, transparent and effective.

 

Brief Introduction of E-Governance in the ULBs

  1. a) All the following software modules has been developed and tested and now ready to be rolled out to the 40 KMS ULBs.
    • Admin
    • Infra. Mgmt System(IMS)
    • Birth&Death(BD)
    • Payroll(Payroll)
    • Property Tax(PT)
    • ULB Infrastructure(ULBI)
    • Trade License(TL)
    • School Information System(SIS)
    • Ward Wise Management(WWMS)
    • Public Grievance(PGR)
    • Health  System(HS)
    • Water Works management system(WT)
    • FAS(FAS)
    • Building Plan(BP)
    • City Web Portal(CWP)
    • MIS
  2. b) Above modules has been developed based the studies done on the existing processes of the ULBs and the requirements gathered from the ULBs.

 

  1. c) For smooth operational efficiency of the future processes of ULBs after implementation of e-governance, a  Business process reengineering document has been prepared, having description of current, process proposed process and how the transformation from existing system to the proposed system.

         d)  Before rolling out the software modules to the ULBs, an extensive training programme has been planned for the employees of
            the40 ULBs. The training programme will start on 26th November, 2008 and will end on 21st January, 2009.
